Pre-K, Kindergarten, First Grade:
Available only for those young children whose parents are participating in the Adult Faith Formation program and couldn’t participate without requiring childcare assistance. This time would consist of supervised, quiet activities such as: story-time, a children’s version of that Sunday’s gospel, coloring sheets, crafts, videos, etc. Introduction to the Holy Family, the Church, and the prayers they should know by First Communion will be included.
First Communion Preparation:
Typically for Grade 2 students, but will also include any young child in grades 3 and 4 who has not received First Reconciliation and First Communion and who still needs to prepare for those sacraments. We will again use Dynamic Catholic’s “Blessed” program for both sacraments. You may review these programs at https://www.dynamiccatholic.com/plus/blessed-seasons.html
Grades 3, 4, and 5 (Elementary school):
Elementary students who have received First Reconciliation and First Communion will be grouped together in one classroom. We hope this will continue to create more social bonds with the children over the 3 grades. We will again use Pflaum’s “Venture: Weekly Gospels”, highlighting the Gospels in the current-cycle readings of the liturgical year. You may review these programs at https://www.pflaumweeklies.com/venture/
Grades 6, 7, & 8 (Junior High school):
Junior high students will be grouped together in one classroom. We hope this will continue to create more socialbonds with the children over the 3 grades. We will use Dynamic Catholic’s “Decision Point” this year. It is highly recommended and requested that any child intending to prepare for Confirmation attend at least one year of Faith Formation in Junior High within 2 years of entering the Confirmation program. Though “Decision Point” is a Confirmation prep program, it is also considered suitable for Junior High students. Check it out at: https://www.dynamiccatholic.com/plus/decision-point.html
Confirmation 1, Confirmation 2 and Confirmation 3:
Confirmation 1 is typically for grade 9 students and for any older high school student who hasn’t started Confirmation preparation.
Confirmation 2 is typically for grade 10 students and for any older high school student who has completed the Confirmation 1 preparation.
Confirmation 3, typically grade 11 students, will receive Confirmation this year, October 2, 2022, at 11:30am at St. Anthony Church. if they have fulfilled all the preparation requirements for Confirmation. They will be required to attend a 2022 Saturday Fall Retreat prior to Confirmation.
