2024 Christmas Pageant

With Thanksgiving coming soon, the Christmas season is almost here.  We restarted the long-postponed Christmas Pageant at St. Mary Church last year and it was a wonderful success.  We're going to do it again!  

The Christmas Pageant is a wonderful way to get into the Christmas spirit!  It is an interactive story-telling of Mary & Joseph's trek to Bethlehem, the angels announcing to the shepherds of Jesus' birth, and the magi bringing Him 3 gifts.  The narrators read the story taken from the New Testament and the younger children, in costume, act out the story the narrator is reading.  There is no memorization of lines; only remembering where to stand. The children and audience members sing Christmas carols during the story-telling.  Afterwards, when costumes are put away, there will be a social-time of cookies, cocoa and crafts downstairs in the Parish Hall. 

We need all ages: adults and Confirmation students to help set up our "stage", assist with costumes and the "after-party" & leading children into the right places during the pageant, Junior high students who are strong speakers and readers to be narrators, and elementary students and younger children to be the characters: Mary, Joseph, the innkeeper and his wife, the angels, shepherds, the sheep, the innkeeper and his wife, the magi, Herod, and the star. (If your child is able to follow instructions without you being right next to him/her, sign up!).  AND we need audience members to watch, encourage and sing with our cast.  All parishioners, family and friends are invited to come enjoy the show!

The rehearsal is 6-7:30pm (hopefully not longer) at St. Mary Church, on Wednesday, Dec . 4 

The pageant is at 7pm on Thursday, December 5.  Call-time (aka. Time to be there) is 6:00pm on Thursday to get ready for the pageant.   

If your child wants a certain part in the pageant, please mention it in the sign-up.  The part is not guaranteed, but I will try to fulfill your request as best as I can.   The link is below:

DEADLINE TO SIGN UP FOR THE PAGEANT IS BY 10AM FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 29. ADULTS & CONFIRMATION STUDENTS MUST SIGN UP AS WELL SO I KNOW WE HAVE ENOUGH HELP FOR THE PAGEANT AND THE AFTER-PAGEANT SOCIAL TIME.  Please sign up each child individually. If we do not have enough people to hold the pageant, you will be notified by Friday afternoon, November 29, via email.
