Children’s Faith Formation will be in the same groupings as last year:
-
First Communion Preparation is typically for Grade 2 students, but could also include any young child in elementary school from Grade 2 and up who has not yet received First Communion.
-
Grades 3, 4, and 5 (Elementary) will be grouped together in one classroom. We hope this will create more social bonds with the children over the 3 grades. They will have a 3-year rotation of programs so as not to repeat the same material.
-
Grades 6, 7. and 8 (Jr High) will be grouped together in one classroom. We hope this will create more social bonds with the children over the 3 grades. They will have a 3-year rotation of programs so as not to repeat the same material. Please note, starting Fall 2022, in order to move on to Confirmation preparation, your child must attend at least 1 year of Faith Formation within 2 years prior to starting Confirmation.
-
Confirmation 1 (typically Grade 9 students and for any older student who hasn’t started Confirmation preparation) and Confirmation 2 (typically Grade 10 students and for any older students who have completed the first year of Confirmation preparation) will be together. They must have already received the sacraments of First Reconciliation & Communion prior to Confirmation preparation. At least 15 hours of Works of Mercy (Community Service) is requested to be completed in the 2 years of Confirmation prep. These hours can be counted for school requirements as well.
